Crystal

Crystal, a female Siberian Husky, was the second dog on MARK-9. She and her handler, Debbie Milne, began training even before the team was incorporated and remained with the team until Debbie was transferred out of state. Crystal led the way with MARK-9 by proving that breeds not normally thought of as typical for search work can do the job and by bringing on another Husky lover, Jerry Seevers, to the team. Crystal was one of the first dogs on Texas Task Force 1 as well as serving with MARK-9.

Crystal's outgoing personality endeared her to the children she met while doing children's education, and she, along with Hunter and Saber, presented the first Sit 'n Stay done by MARK-9. Among her other firsts was her find on her first search that ultimately helped lead to a conviction. While Crystal is no longer actively searching as part of MARK-9, she is a huge part of its history and her contributions helped pave the way to all that has happened since. Though retired, "Team Crystal" is there in spirit on every search.
