A flight instructor and professional pilot with more than 4,000 hours PIC, Ellen also has 22 years' experience in the medical field. An interest in working dogs and flying search brought her to MARK-9, as well as interests in navigation and rescue systems.

Organized and detail-oriented, Ellen also enjoys assisting in search management. She has a special compassion for the elderly and Alzheimer's walkaways. Ellen teaches GPS and some specialty courses for MARK-9. When not training for SAR or flying her Piper Arrow, Ellen enjoys working with HO-gauge model trains and gardening.
