Molly, a Long-Haired German Shepherd, was given to Deryl Wingate as a military retirement gift from his wife Birgit, who bought Molly from a German breeder while Deryl was stationed in Kosovo. Molly was an eager, enthusiastic searcher, full of life, and she enjoyed her time with MARK-9. She was a perfect SAR student and full of drive. She started her SAR training April of 2001 and was in training until she left us, succumbing to a rapidly-advancing skin cancer. She was very loved and is missed by her family and the MARK-9 team, who remember how her wonderful search work continued even days before she died.
