After seven years with MARK-9, Puzzle (Mystic Writ'n In the Wind) retired from the team in Sept. 2011 and headed for a second career as a search dog in a research foundation group specifically focusing on search procedures for the lost with cognitive or psychological disabilities. A light blonde Golden Retriever with a happy, buoyant personality, Puzzle began training for SAR at 10 weeks and fully certified before she was two years old. Puzzle loves her work, exhibiting strong drive and clear alerts.

And did someone mention water? A typical Golden, Puz takes every opportunity to get into water, even willingly bounding into the shower or bathtub for a cleanup! Perhaps less-typically, in Summer '07 Puzzle adopted an abandoned calico kitten, now named "Thistle." The two are inseparable at home.
