Human Remains Detection (Cadaver) K9s are trained to detect and indicate the presence of the various odors generated by human decomposition.  The dogs are able to detect very small amounts of odors and can even indicate if the odor is from a buried source.  HRD K9s receive extensive training in identifying and locating various types of sources at different levels of decay.
